Are the Curry Kits suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans?
Yes. All of our Curry Kits are suitable. If a recipe calls for Thai Fish sauce, you can substitute for Soy Sauce or Tamari. Even the kits labled 'Chicken Vindail' or 'Slow Cooked Pork' can easily be made into a Vegetarian / Vegan dish.
Are the Curry Kits gluten free?
Yes. All of our Curry Kits are gluten free and carry a crossed grain symbol.
Are they suitable if I’m on a diet?
Definitely. Just stick to the tomato based curries and choose to add either fish, vegetables or a lean meat. Even the Coconut based curries can be less calorific if you add low fat coconut milk. We do get many customers that are on a particular diet, and they can be Syn Free if you are careful what you add. We do not use oil in any of our kits. This allows the customer to choose which oil they would prefer, and how much.
How many people will one Curry Kit serve?
Each Curry Kit is designed to serve 4 people. If you need it to go further, just add a little water or stock and pack it out with either meat, fish or vegetables. Sometimes a mixture of meat and veg works well.
I’m hosting a dinner party. Can I make the curries up in advance?
Definitely. I believe that our curries are even better when cooked and served the following day. It allows all those lovely flavours to intensify. Pop into a fridge once cooled then reheat the next day in the oven or microwave.
(I would advocate cooking the rice and lentil dishes fresh though, as it’s a high risk food if reheated).
How do I store the packs?
Store in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.
Are the Curry Kits suitable for freezing?
Yes. Once made, the curries can be frozen for a later date.
There are only 2 of us, can I use half the Curry Kit?
No. You will never be able to divide the spices equally. Instead, either make it all and freeze half.
Or, use half the amount of meat, fish or veg suggested and follow the kit as per instructions.
